Strengthening Regional Efforts to Reduce Violent Crime

I strongly supported Burnsville Police’s participation in a regional partnership focused on reducing violent crime, illegal firearms activity and organized criminal activity.

By working alongside local, county and state law enforcement partners, Burnsville investigators can strengthen information sharing, coordinate investigations and address criminal activity that extends beyond city boundaries.

Investing in Police & City Hall

Burnsville’s Police Department and City Hall have served our community for decades, but our public safety and operational needs have outgrown the existing facilities.

I supported investing in a long-term solution that expands and modernizes these facilities while making use of the City’s existing site and infrastructure. The project will provide updated police facilities, training and operational spaces, along with new community meeting and gathering spaces.

I also supported using utility franchise fees as part of Burnsville’s long-term facilities funding strategy. This approach spreads costs across utility customers—including tax-exempt properties that use and benefit from City services—rather than relying exclusively on property taxes.

Planning for a New Fire Station No. 2

Our firefighter/paramedics serve Burnsville around the clock, and they need facilities that support the work we ask them to do.

Fire Station No. 2 has reached the point where replacement is necessary to better accommodate modern operations, equipment and the needs of personnel working extended shifts. I support the City’s work to develop a modern replacement facility while engaging residents near the site throughout the planning process.

It’s an investment in the people who respond when our community needs them most.
